I sparked an interest in photography at an early age and continue to learn what I can whenever I can.
As a self taught photographer, I rely on the endless resources available on the internet as well as the wealth of knowledge that can be gained from my peers. I joined the Owen Sound Camera Club in January, 2005. I spent the 2006-07 season as President, and built them a web site that has not only marked their place in the World Wide Web, but helped the club grow to nearly twice the size it was prior joining. I’d love to publish a book of my photography, and with the resources available to us today, and some time, it could become a reality.
As a life long resident of Owen Sound and the surrounding area, I enjoy auto racing, listening to technology podcasts, and of course, photography. To capture my vision of the world as I see it, I rely on my iPhone 8Plus and a set of Moment lenses, an Opus tripod, and the many apps available that can turn an everyday photos into a creative works of art, most notably, Lumibee.
I’m honoured to be a co-host on the Tiny Shutter podcast where we discuss all things related to iPhone photography. You can see more of my work on my page at the OSCC website, my Facebook Page, EyeEm, Instagram, and on Flickr.
About the Red Door:
This image was taken in the evening on Boxing Day, 2006. We had a green Christmas and I decided to go for a walk and as I passed by this scene, I was compelled to take a quick photo. It just stood out to me.
I call it my signature image. For now, I feel I can consider this image the inspiration for my brand, “Red Door Photos”.
